Been quiet on the upload for a bit as I am stuck in exams at University. But here is a hot dance/electro remix to a band I had never heard of called B52’s. Check out the original on youtube if you wish, but this one is a lot better in my opinion. You have that phat phat bass, and a similar sound to what JUSTICE have in some parts. Overall, a dope remix. I would give it 4 stars but the remixer took out a lot of the vocals, which in the original were actually good. So I give it 3 stars!

Here is another hot track off the Midas Touch Jay-Z remix album. This one has a similar feel to the original (sparse sounds). One thing to note is that the vocals Pharrell did on the original did not make it on to this one. Would have been interesting to see how those sounded on the new beat. I give it 3 stars!

Been quiet for a few days but here is a remix from 5G Productions’ J.J. Brown. It takes samples from “Pride and Joy” by the Jackson 5 to give it that East Coast feel. I like the original in a different way to this one. Apples and Oranges? Got the Neptunes synth version, and organic version of J.J. Brown. I’ll take both. I give this one 3 stars.

I gave this dance remix 3 stars. It took me a few seconds to get into it and this might be a put off for those impatient listeners such as myself, but once it gets going its banging. Mariah Carey is back! I can’t believe she is 38 and looks hot as hell! Anyway here is a dance remix of her single by a duo known as Matrixx and Dappa. This one is laid back and has an uptempo beat with vocals that sit behind the song in terms of speed. I love the chords on this and the song is well arranged. Gave it 5 stars.

I can’t remember what song the 80’s synth line on this remix comes from. I know P Diddy has used it before. Anyway there is a lot of talk about the 80’s sound coming back and what not, so expect to hear more 80’s style stuff. H-Money didn’t just slap this classic 80’s synth line on the song without doing it any justice. He has Sexy Back type drums running in the back, with a similar bass line but despite this, the song still has its own standing. It gets 3 stars from me. Think it deserves more? Drop your vote below.

This is a perfect example of what remixes are about. For those who have not heard the original, go check it out and note the difference! I got super excited the first time I heard this! The hook is fire. Can’t stop listening to it. This should have been on the album, well if Jay-Z heard the beat. The beat works great with the vocals. The original did not have that sense of “triumph!”, this one does. I give it 5 stars! What do you think?

For the hiphop fans, we are all well attached to Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt which was released in that “golden era” of hiphop, circa 1996. In my opinion this is one of the greatest rap albums ever. Midas Touch blessed this track with that “Reasonable Doubt” touch. Talk about turning something into gold, just like the greek god. This hit home with me, more so than Just Blaze’s beat on the original “American Gangster” which I thought was really dope. I gave this one 5 stars.
